My husband and I had such an amazing stay at this cabin in Romney ! Everything was absolutely perfect. The cabin was spotless, super peaceful, and had everything we needed fully stocked and ready for us. The views were beautiful and made the whole experience even more relaxing. The hot tub was definitely one of our favorite parts so nice after a long day. The host was also incredibly responsive and helpful throughout our stay. We truly felt comfortable and at home here. We would absolutely stay again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway! Thank you Tony for having us !

We really enjoyed our stay. The cabin is cozy, with beautiful views and a great location for exploring the area. It was a relaxing getaway.
There was a temporary issue with the water during our stay, which was inconvenient, but it was resolved.
We also had some difficulty finding the trash bins, as they weren’t where we expected and were a bit hidden. Clearer directions would make things easier for future guests.
Overall, definitely recommend this place to spend a nice time enjoying the nature and looking an amazing view that this cabin gives you!

A few things to note: the road up is very steep and may be difficult if you’re not used to mountain driving. The water pressure was low, and the bathroom was functional but not the best. Place was around beautiful scenery, place was clean besides the bathroom had a smell to it, good stay all around besides the WiFi bugging out and no baking trays or aluminum foil for cooking in oven. Enjoyed the hot tub. Also did not know the downstairs room you have to go outside to get too. Other than that solid stay! Great weekend trip

We stayed here over Thanksgiving, and the view was absolutely incredible – that was definitely the highlight of our stay. The hosts were responsive and kind, and we appreciated having a comfortable place to gather for the holiday.
There were a few things future guests may want to know. The basement unit isn’t connected to the main house, which we didn’t realize beforehand. The beds weren’t the most comfortable for us, and the shower’s water pressure was quite low. The bathroom had a noticeable smell, and although the listing mentioned possible bugs, there were more than we expected. The space also felt a little dusty. The Wi-Fi went out during our stay as well, though I understand that can happen anywhere and isn’t always in the host’s control.
Overall, we truly appreciated the beautiful view and the chance to spend Thanksgiving together, and I hope this feedback is helpful for future guests in choosing the right fit.

The Chalet is located in a beautiful spot overlooking the town of Romney. Nights in the hot tub and morning coffee on the deck are a wonderful combination!
Tony was exceptionally communicative, and we had no questions that weren’t answered either before we asked or literally minutes later.
It’s a slightly bumpy ride up on the mountain on quality yet unpaved roads, but it’s manageable.
The views are wonderful, and Romney and the surrounding area have a few attractions. We loved the Potomac Eagle Train tour. We saw a record (according to the host) 62 bald eagles on our 3-hour ride. The train is a short 10 minutes from the house.
Two things to be aware of: 1. The house does not have a washer/dryer. Just worth planning for that. 2. The front side of the house had a LOT of stink bugs on the inside. They didn’t move from there much and didn’t really impact the stay, but they were noticeable, and I’d rather not have had them with us.
Altogether, it is a lovely property and stay!

Far exceeded our expectations. Very peaceful and beautiful views. Plenty of room. There were 5 of us, and all had our own spaces. My dad doesn’t get around too well anymore and we gave him the downstairs BR by the bathroom and that worked perfectly. The shower had a bar for him to hold onto and a non-slip bottom so he felt safe and we didn’t have to worry about him falling. We had a fire in the fire ring and roasted marshmallows. We had a wonderfully blessed weekend. Tony was great with communication and extremely organized with instruction and very informative. We highly recommend this stay! It was better than the last 5 hotels we’ve stayed at.

Enjoyed a quick overnighter in Romney! The A-Frame Chalet was a good space for our family of four. We gently used the home to rest and checked out early the next morning. The 2 mile gravel drive is in good condition. Easy to find. There are other homes on the hill but this home sits by itself in wooded surroundings. Because of the bugs/flies on a hot summer day, we didn’t make use of the hot tub (also strong chlorine smell; would have needed a chance to air out). The spaces and decor were nice. Three AC units provided plenty of cooling. The basement tv space had only an exterior entrance. Great view of Romney and it was convenient for us to meet our kayak rental (check out Breezewood Adventures), up the river, closer to Moorefield. Sundays/Mondays are slower days in this neck of the woods. Fewer restaurants open. We absolutely loved the rolling valleys of this beautiful area of West Virginia!
Host was friendly and responsive. Overall, great and peaceful stay.

If I could have given zero stars I would have! I cannot even comment on the rental itself, because we were never able to check in. We were texted an hour before check in that we would have to wait an addition hour due to the cleaning from previous guests taking longer than expected. This was after already sitting around town waiting for an already late check in at 4pm. Then we were texted an hour later telling us the house was “damaged” and that we could not check in. So Tony left us stranded with no accommodations after traveling all day. He did offer us other rentals that were over an hour away from our original destination. My kids were attending a day camp that required multiple trips to and from and we could not be that far from the camp. I requested a refund credit so that another place could be booked and he claimed refunds take 10 days. This was unacceptable due to needing that large sum to book a new place. After over an hour on the phone with Airbnb, they made it right.

Exactly what I was looking for - a peaceful retreat in the mountains. The house is spacious and comfortable with so much natural light. I loved relaxing in the hot tub looking out on the valley, after a long hike. The historic town of Romney is just minutes away if you need to pick something up. I hope to return!

Gorgeous, private location! Hot tub was fantastic, too! We had a beautiful enough day to open all the doors and windows and enjoy the beautiful, lush, green wilderness right outside. Will return!

We had a great time despite the rain. Our kids loved it! Be mindful of children on the catwalk, the horizontal railing makes for easy and dangerous climbing if they don't know any better. The hot tub was very nice. We would definitely stay again!

My husband and I wanted to get away for our 8th wedding anniversary to somewhere quiet and private (we have three young kids) so getting away to somewhere quiet and peaceful was our top priority. It was a beautiful getaway kid free, with amazing views! We certainly will be coming back to visit! Lastly—Tony was a great host, he was very responsive and kind.

The lower-level game room includes a twin day bed, making it a flexible option for kids or extra guests. A full bathroom serves the cabin.

Good to know
This pet-friendly cabin welcomes dogs, though cats are not allowed. Quiet hours are observed per neighborhood guidelines, and the natural mountain setting means you may notice seasonal outdoor elements despite regular cleaning.
Whether you are planning an escape filled with cozy evenings, outdoor adventure, or time together away from the noise of daily life, this Romney cabin offers a comfortable and inviting place to do just that.
Note
In accordance with neighborhood HOA rules, quiet hours must be observed in the evenings and overnight. For safety, the fire pit must always be attended while in use and fully extinguished afterward. Thank you for helping us respect these guidelines.
Our cleaning team sweeps the deck, stairs, and walkways before each arrival, but because of the natural mountain setting, you may still notice leaves, pollen, or other outdoor elements—especially in certain seasons. Nature has a way of leaving its mark, no matter how often we tidy up.
We often take our three little kids and dog to the cabin with us, so we're very family- and dog-friendly. Unfortunately we don't allow cats (we're allergic).
Wi-Fi is available, though due to the remote location, service may occasionally be slower or spotty. We recommend downloading any essential content ahead of time, just in case.
